Currently this course will BEGIN ON 9/4/2024. If you purchase this course today, you will gain access to start the course on 9/4/2024. On or after 9/4/2024 we will return to a rolling enrollment which includes start dates of every business day.
In this course, students will learn about basic concepts of computer science. The text is grounded in real-world examples to help students grasp fundamental computer science concepts and includes a variety of practice opportunities for traditional computer science problems. This course begins by describing hardware, software, and operating systems. Students will explore networks and the internet, the transmission of information, and cybersecurity, data, the history of computers. The second part of the course emphasizes algorithms, program planning, traditional and non-traditional computer careers, and access and equity in computing. The students will learn to interpret and conclude information that is displayed in various mediums. Lastly, the students will recognize various characteristics of computer science.
