Course Description
In this course, students will examine the seven elements of art: Line, color, shape, value, form, texture, and space. Students will defend judgments about the characteristics and structures to accomplish commercial, personal, communal, or other purposes of art. This includes the process to evaluate the effectiveness of artworks in terms of organizational structures and functions. Students will also differentiate between elements of art and principles of design. They will also apply techniques and processes to create artwork with elements and principles of art. Students will demonstrate their understanding of art concepts through discussions, art evaluations, and by creating their own pieces.
