      In this course, students will learn about basic concepts of computer science. The text is grounded in real-world examples to help students grasp fundamental computer science concepts and includes a variety of practice opportunities for traditional computer science problems. This course begins by describing hardware, software, and operating systems. Students will explore networks and the internet, the transmission of information, and cybersecurity, data, the history of computers. The second part of the course emphasizes algorithms, program planning, traditional and non-traditional computer careers, and access and equity in computing. The students will learn to interpret and conclude information that is displayed in various mediums. Lastly, the students will recognize various characteristics of computer science. This course can be taken individually or as part of a full high school diploma program.
